“When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus’ knees and said, “Go away from me, Lord; I am a sinful man!””
Luke 5:8
When he realized what had happened in the huge catch of fish, Peter turned away from the miracle and bowed before the miracle worker. He did allow the miracle catch to eclipse His view of the Lord. Many today like the prodigal son go to the Father for their potion of His blessing to only walk away from Him. In His eyes the father was too restrictive and too demanding yet he was the source of all the good things he enjoyed.
When God provides what is your attitude? That job, that child, that business, that house. Have they drawn you closer to God Himself. May we come to the fuller understanding of the power and the grace of God when we come face to face with the supernatural. May our eyes move away from the provisions to marvel at the provider from the resources to gaze upon the source. Through this great catch of fish, Peter was became more aware of his own sinfulness and his need of a Saviour. By honoring Him fir today’s miracle we open the door for tomorrow’s miracle.
