“Better the poor whose walk is blameless than the rich whose ways are perverse.” Proverbs‬ ‭28:6‬ ‭

This pragmatic culture encourages people to get rich and all costs. In some instances, riches are elevated above righteousness and are seen as a sign of blessedness.  Nothing wrong with becoming rich. What God warns against is ill-gotten riches. “Such are the paths of all who go after ill-gotten gain; it takes away the life of those who get it.” Prov‬ ‭1:19‬.

The faith journey requires that we be clean before God. God’s call is never to passively avoid evil but to believe that He exists and engage in active faith. An active faith walk demands that we stay blameless. We are counted as blameless through our abiding relationship with God. We became pure by inheriting God’s purity, His holiness, and His righteousness.
