Choose my instruction instead of silver, knowledge rather than choice gold, for wisdom, is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her.” Proverbs 8:10-11
Wisdom throughout proverbs is personified and presented as being more precious than any form of precious stone. Just like the gift of grace wisdom is something that God freely offers and which we must receive. Those who embrace this offer walk worthy of the Lord and enjoy the fullness of Christ in daily living.
The wisdom of Proverbs is biblical. It has little to do with cognitive or mental improvement. It has everything to do with the fear of God. It is gaining spiritual common sense to help the believer discern what is right and wrong. You and I continue to need this wisdom. Remember James’s rhetoric; Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. Jm 3:13.
