The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction. Proverbs‬ ‭1:7‬ ‭

Knowledge and wisdom are found in fear of the LORD. The word "fear," in this context, is not meant to imply a sense of horror, despair, or fright. It speaks of having awe of something. It is respect and reverence for the LORD that allows us to respond by worship and reverent living. Wisdom keeps us in the larger story of God's care and sovereignty.

There is a vast difference between ordinary knowledge and godly wisdom (1 Corinthians 1:25). Those who fear God live their lives in a manner that honors Him as a Holy and loving Father. The fear of the Lord should be our primary pursuit because with it comes godly wisdom. Godly wisdom is a strong protection and a basis for living in integrity.

Blessings.
