Verify What You Hear

Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.”

After hearing from Paul the Bereans still had to examine the scriptures to see if what was said was true. To act on the lockdown word we need to understand the word. By examining the scriptures the Bereans ensured that their faith did not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power.”

As you listen to the preaching of the word; “See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ.” Col‬ ‭2:8‬. This is why we must always examine what we hear. Be warned a lot of what we hear these days make preaching sense but no practical sense.
