Now my friends, I want to say this to you. Fill your minds with thoughts about good things. Think about things that are true, clean, right and lovely. Always think about things which people know are very good.”

‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4:8‬ ‭

It is a generation of mistrust suspicion and second guessing other people. Today’s verse encourages the believer to look for the positive always. As Christ filled people we need to be positive in attitude toward life and others. While God guards our hearts as seen in Phil 4:7 we are also commanded to focus our lives on things that please are good.

With a proper focus on positive things, we can experience sound relationships through the peace  of God in our hearts. This requires a deliberate choice to set our attention on the  positive. When the disciples associated Paul with His past they failed to embrace Him, they mistrusted Him and missed an opportunity to mentor Him. Ananias overcame his mistrust and suspicion by being obedient. The best way to overcome ill feelings toward another person is to replace them with a loving obedience to the Lord who commands us to focus on the positive.
