Shine

“so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky.” Philippians‬ ‭2:15‬ ‭. 

We live in this world but we have been bought by grace to belong to another realm. According to the words of Jesus: “I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world.” John‬ ‭17:14. The word sets believers apart allowing them to stand out. The goal of the gospel we received is for us  to live in a way explicitly different from the depraved world we find ourselves in. There should be no room excuses or reason for compromising. 

The words of this verse echo the teaching of Jesus Christ who taught, "Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven" Matthew 5:16. Disciples of Christ display the light of the Lord  by doing the good works and refusing to conform to the standards of this world. We live to please Him.
