RESCUED

For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.”

Colossians 1:13-14 

Paul is referring to God's rescue of Christians from the power of sin and death. Salvation is entirely the work of God, who changed our fate and destiny rescuing us from sin and bringing us to life. The simple act of faith in Christ's finished work at Calvary lifts the believing person out of eternal slavery and translates them into Christ's glorious kingdom of everlasting light and life.

Now then since you have been rescued and redeemed “Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.” Col 3:2-3. Redemption has lifted us from the devil’s grip into God’s dominion. The kingdom of God’s beloved Son is the realm where Jesus Christ rules, where He is Lord. Let us live and love as those who have accepted the love of God’s son.
