“Better a little with the fear of the Lord than great wealth with turmoil.” Proverbs 15:16
Having the fear of the LORD is the key to life: it will save one from the pain of misguided pursuits. It means knowing God and living in reverent submission to His will. We can also say from that verse we meant that It is important that Christians guard themselves against an undue emphasis on the acquisition of material gains. Acquisition of material gains for the believer should never be with AT ANY COST, attitude it must be guided by the fear of God.
The Lord’s words come to mind here; He said, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of one’s material possessions.” Luke 12:15. The God who called us said these words He knows He will guide us and meet all our needs. Therefore we ought to be content and thankful with what we have. Remember “... godliness with contentment is great gain.” 1 Timothy 6:6.
