Keep my commands and you will live; guard my teachings as the apple of your eye. Bind them on your fingers; write them on the tablet of your heart.” Proverbs 7:2-3 

Life is found in God’s commands. When God speaks it not to restrict or limit His children but to impart life. Remember we are to take  to heart all the words God has declared to us, so that we may live and also command future generations to obey carefully all the words of God’s law. His words  are not just idle words for us —they are your life. By them we  will live long and enjoy God’s promises. 

The exhortation is to guard God’s teachings as the apple of your eye. How to we GUARD the teachings? 

G - Give the Bible room to speak to you. 

U - Unreservedly obey what the instruction of God. 

A - Accept all truth as God had presented it. 

R - Reflect on God’s instruction before each action. 

D - Devote to spending time in the word of God.
