The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” Proverbs 1:7 

Knowledge and how wisdom are four in the fear the LORD. This is not the fear of  feeling as when someone says they  afraid of heights or dogs. The word means to have great awe of something. It is  a respect and reverence for the LORD that allows us to respond by worship and reverent living. 

Those who fear God live their lives in a manner that honors Him as a Holy and loving God.
