Passion Week  - Monday

Jesus entered the temple courts, and, while he was teaching, the chief priests and the elders of the people came to him. “By what authority are you doing these things?” they asked. “And who gave you this authority?””Matthew 21:23

Having spent the night in Bethany Jesus spent a considerable amount of time in activities and teachings that demonstrated great authority. It was necessary for Jesus to teach because:

  • His teachings grounded His followers in the faith teaching them to be steadfast.
  • His teachings glorified the Father teaching His followers to trust Him.

Having walked the earth thirty-three years this was to be His final week. By His teachings He was preparing them for what was coming beyond the cross.  He was building faith.

We all we need to remain strong and steadfast is the truth as taught by the master. His goal is for us to grow in Him by learning and following the truth. He is the way the truth and the life.able to connect us with the father. As His we are uniquely designed for connection with God. God has made us for Himself and he will want us closer to Him.

Religious leaders did not embrace His teachings. They felt they already knew everything. They were also guarding their positions.

Never allow what you know to stand in the way of what you must learn.

Have a great passion week. Walk in the truth.
