Day 42/2020

So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honoured by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.” Mat‬ ‭6:2‬ ‭‭

Every child of God should engage in compassionate acts. When we meet the needs of others it is ministry to God. In this verse, Jesus teaches us how we must help the needy. Acts of compassion must be motivated by a genuine desire to serve God by serving others.

Those who love God need not use the plight of others for personal recognition. Sadly these days of technology, when we do good we are quick to let the whole world aware of our good deeds through social media posts. Jesus’s advice “When you do something for someone else, don’t call attention to yourself. When you help someone out, don’t think about how it looks. Just do it—quietly and unobtrusively. That is the way your God, who conceived you in love, working behind the scenes, helps you out.” Mat 6:2-4‬.

Stay good and do good to the glory of God, not for human recognition.
Enjoy your day.
