No To Myths

“For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.”
‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭4:3-4‬ ‭

A myth is a traditional story or a widely held but false belief or idea. Unfortunately in our days, many have been led astray by following myths. The word of God is not meant to tickle ears but to convict hearts. I like Peter’s disclaimer “For we were not making up clever stories when we told you about the powerful coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. We saw his majestic splendour with our own eyes” 2 Peter‬ ‭1:16‬. Our faith rests on the truth. Keep it that way and avoid trusting and believing myths.
