Jews are being reminded that their Jewishness is not a matter of looks and claims. Instead it is in the inside. The same with the believer. The true identity of who are are as children of God is on the inside. We must remember that through the privilege provided to us through the  covenant blood of Jesus Christ we are more than who we think we are.

If we take our meaning in life from our family, our work, a cause, or some achievement other than God, they enslave us" - Tim Keller As believer, we do not find our identity in activities and looks, but instead, we find our identity in Someone and His Name is Jesus. Remember “...  it is we who are the circumcision, we who serve God by his Spirit, who boast in Christ Jesus, and who put no confidence in the flesh.” Phil 3:3‬ ‭
