Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?” Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.” Matthew‬ ‭18:21-22‬ ‭

Have you been violated by a brother of sister at any time in the past? Have you talked it over or you are still holding on to the violation? In this life you are going to be offended, and you are going to offend others.  Staying offended is a choice we make because the Lord has given us the way out. We forgive “in order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes.” 2 Cor‬ ‭2:11.

Something happened in the past, you were violated in some way and you have said I won’t forget or forgive what they did to me. If the mention, the voice, the sight or the progress  of someone affects you  negatively it’s time to forgive. You may not want to forgive but what we learn from Mt 18 simply put is: if you are going to follow Jesus, then you must be willing to forgive like Jesus. To forgive is to release an offense and walk in freedom. Remember when somebody offends you, you are obligated to forgive them 490 times. It is your duty as a child of God it is not a matter of preference.

Let go and enjoy your liberty.
