”When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to him and said, “I am God Almighty; walk before me faithfully and be blameless. Then I will make my covenant between me and you and will greatly increase your numbers.”“ Genesis‬ ‭17‬:‭1‬-‭2

Abraham honored God in faith throughout his life. At the same time God continued to give him assurance. When it looked humanly impossible to have a son God reassured Abraham while demanding that he walks before him in integrity. To live out the reality of His promises in our daily lives, we need to walk in obedience to God’s Word. God is not a man that He will lie, and His Word never returns to Him without having successfully accomplished what it was sent out to do.

Faith is a relationship. Abraham nurtured his relationship with God and got what God had promised. ”Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, “So shall your offspring be.” Romans‬ ‭4‬:‭18‬. He had no reason to believe apart from trusting the character of the unchanging God.
