Journey Through Psalms

In God we make our boast all day long, and we will praise your name forever. Psalms‬ ‭44‬:‭8‬ ‭

Where is your boast ? Is it in God? The Psalmist’s boast was in God. It is  strange to think of boasting as good; especially since the word boast means “to puff or prop oneself up in speech. Listen to the words of Jeremiah; “but let the one who boasts boast about this: that they have the understanding to know me, that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, ….” Jer 9‬:‭24‬.  

Remember we boast in God when we know that what he is after is our redemption. Boasting in the Lord is concerned with boasting of His great attributes and consistent character. It includes celebrating what He has done for us and how He continues to be an ever present savior. Humanly speaking we have no reason to boast only in God do we find reason to rejoice and sing praises. Therefore in Christ Jesus I have found reason for boasting in things pertaining to God. Rom 15:17
