“I said, “I will watch my ways and keep my tongue from sin; I will put a muzzle on my mouth while in the presence of the wicked.” Psalms 39:1
Nothing happens without a decision. In this Psalm we see a commitment to careful living. Rather than speaking words and walk in ways which would be regretted later, David has committed to being careful. David is making a declaration to watch his words and his ways. He is aware that whatever he does and says reflects on God.
Paul instructs the believer thus: “Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.” Col 4:5-6. We can only fulfill the requirements of the above verse by making an “I will” vow .
