It is written I

“Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘

  Matthew‬ ‭4:4‬ “Jesus answered him, “It is also written: ‘ Mat4:7‬ ‭

When our Lord was challenged He responded by quoting that which is written. As His followers we live by what is written. When facing temptation the word of God is all we need.

The word of God is a source of strength and authority. It gives wisdom to the simple and it's entrance brings understanding to the simple. God designed those who believe in Him to function by the word. When we read and trust the word we keep strong and steadfast in the Lord. 

All forms of our encounter with the word; it maybe a sermon we hear, a book we read, a  video we watch, a song we sing or even a  word we speak. All must line up clearly with the unchanging written word of God. Anything outside the written word of God is likely to be contrary to the will of God. God has revealed His will in the written word. Aligining with the word is submitting to His will.
