but we had hoped that he was the one who was going to redeem Israel. And what is more, it is the third day since all this took place.” Luke 24:21

We all live our lives with a healthy sense of anticipation however at times when our hopes are not met the tendency of many is to walk away. Like the two men who spoke the words in today’s verse, some people are quick to give in and give up. The challenge for  us all is to keep hope alive in spite of what we face, it  means hoping when there  are hopelessness.

“Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, “So shall your offspring be.” Rom 4:18. The important role of hope for fruitful of Christian living is unquestionable in scriptures. For as long as God is alive we have a reason to keep hope alive.
