“… but we had hoped that he was the one who was going to redeem Israel. And what is more, it is the third day since all this took place.” Luke‬ ‭24:21‬

We all live our lives with a healthy sense of anticipation however at times when our hopes are not met the tendency of many is to walk away. Like the two men who spoke the words in today’s verse, some people are quick to give in and give up. The challenge for  us all is to keep hope alive in spite of what we face, it  means hoping when there is no reason to  hope.

‭ “Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, “So shall your offspring be.” Rom‬ ‭4:18‬.  “And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us…” Romans‬ ‭5:5‬ ‭As long as God is alive we have a reason to keep hope alive.
