Fullness

“For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and in Christ you have been brought to fullness. He is the head over every power and authority.”Colossians‬ ‭2:9-10‬ ‭

As believers, we are complete, having come to the fullness of life in Christ Jesus. This places us into the position of full spiritual stature to be filled with the Lord. Sadly we accept teaching and notions that seem to suggest that life in God is in installments. Prior to the words in verse 9 and 10 Paul had encouraged the believers “to see to it that no one takes them captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ.” Colossians‬ ‭2:8‬.

In John 10: 10 we note that Jesus’s reason for coming was to give those who believe fullness of life. “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” John‬ ‭10:10‬. This means there is nothing more left to be done. Christ concluded the task on Calvary. All we need is the embracing of the gift of life from Christ and walking in newness of life.
