And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”” Mark 11:25

Effective praying includes letting go of that which we hold onto while it is holding us back.  Our religious duty and spiritual disciplines are intertwined with our social responsibility. There are probably many Christians struggling with unforgiveness in their hearts. The Bible commands us to be forgiving. And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you. Eph 4:32

If we are holding anger and bitterness against a person for the wrongs they have done to us, that anger and bitterness impacts our ability to enjoy the peace of God. Unless the forgiveness we have received from God becomes the model and motivation for our forgiveness of others hearts stay enslaved by the scars from the hurts.
