“Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.” James‬ ‭1:22‬ ‭ Yesterday we looked at telling and doing, the flip side of it is the hearing and doing the word. many times we take pride in what we have heard and who we have heard speaking. Where is the DOING of the word? Someone once said, “If sermons were water Christians would be drowning.” God is interested in our obedience. Unfortunately, some things that we get to hear make sermon sense but not common sense, they make preaching sense but not living sense. They are impossible to apply in real life. It was the Master Himself who said: “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.” ‭‭Mat 7:24. Contrary to modern notions it is not enough to hear the word. Hearing the word should be followed by doing the word. Child of God DO what the Word says.
