“All the people saw this and began to mutter, “He has gone to be the guest of a sinner.” Luke 19:7
The one thing that many people of Jesus’s time struggled with was His approach when it came to the untoward the outcast and the least in society. He associated with them, ate in their homes, allowed them to touch Him and many other intimate activities to the disappointment of the rest like in the cases of Zacchaeus. For Him it had to be so because “... the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” Luke 19:10. After Zacchaeus’ action of repentance He was able to declare “Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, .....” Luke 19:9
When we judge and condemn the unsaved we close doors of evangelism. We are called to reach the world with the love of Christ. We can not achieve this with a separatist attitude that seeks to keep us away from the unsaved. Paul writing to the Corinthians about associating with the immoral had this to say;! “... not at all meaning the people of this world who are immoral, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters. In that case you would have to leave this world. 1 Cor 5:10. Let us remember that we have a responsibility to share the gospel with the world not with the church.
Keep practicing and preaching the gospel without judging others.
