Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." Josh 1:9 In this life, at times a Christian can feel lonely. Moments do come when it is easy to get terrified or discouraged. It is easy to be depressed when we focus on what we are faced with compared to what we think we can handle. God does not command that which He does not expect to come out of us. He does not permit challenges beyond your ability to contain and handle (1 Cor 10:13). If the challenge appears too big for you, it is because God’s presence with you is equal to the task. Do not lose sight of the presence of God in the midst of great challenges. He is too faithful to fail you and too committed to abandon you. Trust Him and rest on His promises. Never base decisions on feelings. Make good judgment calls. Remember the accompanying presence of God is with you. The bottom line is that it is not what we can endure or handle that is important. What matters is, do you know what God has promised? God’s presence is with the Christian always.
