"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." John 16:33 Jesus expected His disciples to accept challenges in this world. However he also wanted them to know that while they may be stormed they are never stranded. When troubles come at times, we feel like the world is winning and we the children of God are losing. Considering the words of Jesus in this verse is good. He encourages his disciples to take heart on the basis of his victory. The Message translation of this verse hits home in many ways. I've told you all this so that trusting me; you will be unshakable and assured, deeply at peace. In this godless world, you will continue to experience difficulties. But take heart! I've conquered the world. John 16:33 (MSG) We can be unshakable and assured because of the victory we find in the Lord Jesus Christ. In turbulent times he is a trusted pilot who can chart the course without endangering those under his care.
