And the child grew and became strong in spirit; and he lived in the desert until he appeared publicly to Israel Luke 1:80

John the Baptist is said to have grown strong in the spirit. Becoming strong in the spirit is crucial. God wants us to transcend our circumstances by an inner strength that is not moved by Satan’s activities. Remember neither Jesus nor the other New Testament characters seemed alarmed by Satan’s activities. They dealt with him and his demons matter-of-factly, knowing that God’s power is infinitely greater than our enemy’s.[1] When the spirit man is strong, the Christian can look beyond the outlook and trust God. God’s spirit with us and within us is a greater power that can withstand any challenge: “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us  Eph 3:20

POWER THOUGHT OF THE DAY  Ability to withstand external storms depends on our internal strength because what happens to you does not matter, it’s what happens in you that matters.
