And Saul's son Jonathan went to David at Horesh and helped him to find strength in God 1 Sam 23:16 But David found strength in the Lord his God 1 Sam 30:6.
In a time when David’s life was in danger, his friend Jonathan came to help him find strength in God. Jonathan was a faithful friend who understood the principles of encouraging others. One of the ways we find strength in God in through encouraging others. As we give others words of encouragement, faith wells up within us. Though believers do get influenced by their surroundings, it’s important to stop feeling like they have the same kind of limitations as others because there is God to find strength from. David was facing a challenge of his plundered family, so were other people with him. But David was different because he had available to him the Lord from who he could draw strength. David did that with good outcomes. Always look to the Lord and draw strength from Him. I have always loved the saying, if the outlook is grim try the up-look
The scriptures integrate our relationship with God with our relationships with other people. We cannot grow in relationship with God more than we are willing and able to grow in our relationship with other people. Some of the troubles want you to abandon relationships. Reach out and be a source of strength to others it will make you stronger. Faced with life challenges, we can rest and allow the strength of God to flow to us and flow through us.
