But now be strong, O Zerubbabel,' declares the Lord. 'Be strong, O Joshua, son of Jehozadak, the high priest. Be strong, all you people of the land,' declares the Lord, 'and work. For I am with you,' declares the Lord Almighty. Hag 2:4
When facing challenges at times, it is the work of God that suffers. In the case of Zerubbabel and Joshua, in the verse above, they were growing weary and weak due to the opposition. Be strong and fulfil your calling, do not hold back; keep your hands on the plough. The enemy desires to see those called by the Lord slackening in their work for the Lord. The enemy can try to use what we go through to stop us from seeing where we are going to, let us refuse and keep pushing. On our side when facing opposition we have: - God’s empowering presence - God’s enabling presence - God’s energising presence Work hard God is with you. Do not grow weary in doing good. Keep doing good, in due season you will be rewarded. Zerubbabel had much opposition, but God wanted him to be strong and keep working. Child of God, keep on working, “strengthen the feeble hands, and steady the knees that give way” (Isaiah 35:3).
POWER THOUGHT OF THE DAY Never allow the opposition to your faith to be a reason for abandoning your call.
