Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged because of the king of Assyria …, for there is a greater power with us than with him.  2 Chron 32:7.

When facing an enemy or a challenge, the natural thing is to measure that enemy or challenges against the available resource. In today’s  verse children of God are reminded that it is not the size of the enemy that matters but the accompanying power that goes with them. As you are following God, you must be aware of the superabundance of the power of God working for your benefit. He possesses the power to accomplish anything on behalf of his people and it is this power that bestows strength on the believer. The greater power that you have as a child of God includes Christ in you. Speaking of Christ in us the word says:  You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. 1 John 4.  Because you are from God you are an overcomer.  Start to think of your opposition as opportunities because through Christ you are an overcomer. This reminds me of our boyhood, whenever we had the most revered strong boy; “the BOUNCER,”  of the neighbourhood on our side or with us  we always enjoyed walking around knowing that no bully would pick a fight with us in the presence  of our BOUNCER. You as a child of God, have your own bouncer Jesus Christ. Anything that dares stand in your way is picking a fight with Him.

POWER THOUGHT OF THE DAY

Don’t fear the Lord has availed resources to sustain His loved ones. Be strong and enjoy the day.
