"for you are still of the flesh. For while there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not of the flesh and behaving only in a human way? For when one says, 'I follow Paul,' and another, 'I follow Apollos,' are you not being merely human?" 1 Corinthians 3:3-4,
Paul highlights the destructive consequences of division within the body of Christ. When believers become divided, jealousy, strife, and a focus on human leaders can infiltrate the church, leading to a worldly and fleshly mindset. Instead of being united in purpose and mission, the church becomes fragmented and distracted by human allegiances, causing discord and hindering the advancement of God's kingdom.
As we reflect on these verses, let us be reminded of the call to unity in Christ. Our loyalty and allegiance should not be to human personalities or leaders, but to the Lord Himself. When we allow division and worldliness to take root in our hearts and churches, we risk diminishing the impact of the gospel and failing to reflect the love and unity that should characterize the body of Christ. May we seek to prioritize Christ above all else, uniting around His teachings and His mission, and striving for harmony and love within the body, as we pursue His kingdom together
