Anxiety and Worry II
He came to a broom bush, sat down under it and prayed that he might die. “I have had enough, Lord,” he said. “Take my life; I am no better than my ancestors.””1Kings 19:4
In the moment of anxiety and stress Elijah’s future started to seem uncertain and he worried about the consequences of his actions. Elijah started to doubt his own capacity and the protection of God therefore he panicked in the face of Jezebels threats.
We all face pressure moments. Moments of uncertainty and threats from various life situations. Whatever it is never give up. Once you start worrying about one thing it seems there will always be reason to worry about the next. According to M Adams. “The ghost fears are, more potent in scaring people than real things that are apparent, clear and dangerous.” Do not focus on your fears live a life of faith. Trust God to see you through.
This is not to say ignore your realities. Accept reality think possibilities and trust God.
