Blessed For Blessings

“Now to the one who works, wages are not credited as a gift but as an obligation. However, to the one who does not work but trusts God who justifies the ungodly, their faith is credited as righteousness. David says the same thing when he speaks of the blessedness of the one to whom God credits righteousness apart from works: “Blessed are those whose transgressions are forgiven; whose sins are covered. Blessed is the one whose sin the Lord will never count against them.” Romans 4:4-8

These words can easily confuse. I want you to know that every child of God is blessed. All that we have are blessings from God.

Failing to understand these two words has led to Worldviews and frameworks that contradict our theology. Our confession and our convictions contradict when we do not use these words correctly.  

• To Be Blessed – Having the favour  of God invoked upon someone
• Blessing - God giving you the power to do that which they are designed or intended to do.
• Blessing – Anything I may posses that I have as a result of God’s favour
  
  enjoying the blessings of God
  You have to be blessed for blessings to be meaningful 

State of being Blessed

• Prepared to Receive Blessings 
• Qualified to Receive Blessings 
• Primed to Receive Blessings
  
  “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ Ephesians 1:3

Your blessing starts with being forgiven and being in Christ – Salivation

Christ Who has blessed us.
In the past by the sacrificial work of Christ: meaning you and I are blessed.

With All spiritual blessings
At that point, all blessings that accrue to a believer were given at the point of salvation.

At the point of salvation, we all had a deposit of all spiritual blessings made into our spiritual account 

A Deposit of Resources Requisite for Us to Live for God 

Before we talk about this subject any further, we need to talk about focus.

• Our orientation on religion is that we mostly look at God and compare pitting Him against all the negative challenges like illnesses, demon possession and lack etc.
• Our God is therefore seen as a God who is needed when things are not going wrong. Even when people are doing so well, the enemy has to be brought into the picture.
  This creates an enemy conscious outlook more than a God-focused perspective.
  
  

Back to the idea of being Blessed. 

• • We have been blessed with all spiritual blessings in Christ.
    
    Those who have been forgiven are blessed. In Christ, they are no longer haunted by their past.
    
    “. blessed is the people whose God is the Lord.” Psalms 144:15
    

Blessing of Acceptance
⁃ No condemnations our God accepts us. This acceptance of because of the justification that we have received in Christ Jesus.
⁃ In Christ God treats us as His own. He has elevated us to sonship.

Blessing of access
⁃ we were strangers, but now we have access to God. We approach a God boldly and His beloved. Wherever you are, you can access God.
⁃ “Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have the confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, Hebrews 10:19-20

Blessing Of adoption
⁃ we were made God’s by adoption. We are children of God by faith In Christ.
⁃ “So in Christ Jesus, you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. Galatians 3:26-27
⁃ Clothed yourself with Christ - the Father sees the Christ that you have put on. He sees the new man that you have become.
⁃ “So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once saw Christ in this way, we do so no longer. 2 Corinthians 5:16
