Over the past few years the barnabas outreach ministry has done leadership training in several parts of Zimbabwe. One area that has benefited a lot from these efforts is a local church in a rural community of Matshetsheni. This past week we went to Matshetsheni to celebrate a 98 year old pastor  Maphosa (aka Baba Maphosa) who has served God as a pastr since 1969. He ministered to many people who are now doing great work in God’s kingdom. He never came to any form of prominence humanly speaking but the fruit of his labour is evident. Baba Maphosa is an example of a living legend simple and  humble yet aggressive when it comes to the great commission.

This celebration which was an initiative of Paoz. It was indeed an honorable thing to do. Heaven rejoices when such people are in action, because their action is only in kingdom business.

During the meeting testimony after testimony was given on how people were led to the Lord by this kingdom legend. He was instrumental to the starting of many churches in Matebeleland South.

One thing that stands out in this area is the need for training. Several pastors are leading churches with no training at all. Barnabas Outreach Centre plans to be back before the year is over with a three day training program for pastors. This is much needed as a way to keep the legacy of Pastor Maphosa alive. The legacy is preaching the good news.
